Virdante Pharmaceuticals Inc. has made a splashy debut with a $47 million extended Series A financing, money that will be used to accelerate a second drug development program.
Initially funded in 2008, the Cambridge, Mass.-based company has been working over the past year to improve the anti-inflammatory activity of antibody-based drugs that treat autoimmune and inflammatory disorders.
Starting out under the name Centaurus, the company used its initial Series A funds to develop what Virdante calls Sialic Switch technology.
