Paid-time-off banks slowly are gaining ground in today's workplaces. Michael Klachefsky, a principal at the HR consulting firm Mercer, observes, "There's a small movement toward PTO banks. It's not a great flood."
Scott Stevenson, a director in the advisory practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers, agrees: "I'm seeing more interest in it again. It's because more companies now are focusing on the employee value proposition." Organizations may be nervous about their ability to retain workers as the economy recovers.
