NEW YORK-American Home Mortgage Servicing Inc., Coppell, Texas, last week was negotiating to subservice nearly 16,000 loans that previously had been serviced by the bankrupt Taylor, Bean & Whitaker.
According to Moody's Investor Service, if the transfer goes through it could at some point in the future be a plus for the performance of the loans in question, which back six residential mortgage-backed securities transactions. Moody's said TBW had been the sole servicer on these deals.
