WITH still no official word on whether Eskom chief executive Jacob Maroga had been asked to step down, Solidarity on Friday said it would welcome a decision to relieve him of his duties.
However, the Black Management Forum (BMF) yesterday decried the reports of Maroga being pushed out. It said there appeared to be persecution of black African executives.
Jaco Kleynhans, a spokesman for Solidarity, which is one of the unions at the utility, said it would like to see Maroga and other senior managers at Eskom vacate their positions because they had no plan on how to help the company out of the crisis it was facing.
