in her article on South Africa's declining competitiveness, Raj Riana calls for stronger government interventions when the government is the very cause of our inability to produce competitively. ("SA's robust banks mask scary decline in competitiveness", October 21).
Any manufacturer in South Africa will tell you that we are steadily becoming less competitive because of rising costs and overheads associated with some law, regulation or service. We are overtaxed and overregulated by people with no idea what manufacturing, producing and competing entails.
