"That's a gorgeous jean on you," says a voice as I exit my dressing room. I turn to see a glam soccer mom awaiting her teenage princess. We're on the eighth floor of the Barneys Madison Avenue store. I am trying on my indigo-hued future: a dark wide-leg jean from J Brand that, I must admit, does look pretty gorge.
Denim tip number 1: When a stranger compliments your jeans in the fitting room, do not pass go and do not collect $200. Head straight for the cash register with your plastic of choice in hand.
