Sunday evening, June 25 2006 and Ger 'Redser' O'Grady has had a few pints. Hours after their Munster final defeat to Cork in Thurles, the Tipperary captain is chasing the blues away following a black day on a field just a short puck away from his family home. Mortification isn't the word.
In the midst of a house party, a mischievous friend commandeers his mobile phone and rings manager Babs Keating and trainer Brian Murray. He proceeds to heckle abuse at the pair for taking O'Grady off with 15 minutes to go. and with that, the then 26-year-old's inter-county career is fin==ished.
