CAIRO: Egypt chief medic Ahmed Maged played down reports claiming that Hosni Abd-Rabou would miss Egypt's World Cup qualifier against Algeria through injury.
The Ahly Dubai ace was taken out of the field on a stretcher during his club's 1-1 draw with Sharjah in the UAE League on Saturday after falling down suddenly with no challengers in close proximity, 17 minutes after the start of the game.
Initial diagnosis indicated that he sustained a negligible ankle injury, which would keep him on the sidelines only for a week.
