Shari'ah-compliant stocks underperformed the broader market in the Gulf Cooperation Council, US and Europe during the third quarter of 2009, according to the latest Shari'ah Scorecard published by Standard & Poor's, as Islamic investors remained on the sidelines while the financial sector rallied.
