SPAIN'S Cosmen family has gone on the offensive by contacting other National Express shareholders in an attempt to pressurise the ailing transport group's board to re-open merger talks with rival Stagecoach.
The Cosmens, who own 18.5pc of NatEx and have a seat on the board, are pressing the company to roll back on last week's decision to end talks with Stagecoach.
A source said: 'The Cosmens are contacting other shareholders to assess their position and test the amount of support they have.' It follows last Friday's astonishing outburst from the Spanish family, who sold their Alsa coach business to NatEx for cash and shares ...
