NORFOLK - Agnes P. Coleman, after a brief illness, passed away peacefully Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, at the age of 94.
Agnes was formerly of Norfolk, residing in Timonium, Md. Agnes will be remembered with love and affection by her family and friends. Agnes was born on Chincoteague Island, Va., the daughter of the late Daniel James Pettit and Hallie Jester Pettit. She grew up in Sign Post on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and was a graduate of Beacon College in Wilmington, Del. With her Navy husband she lived in Lewes, Del., San Diego, Calif., Honolulu, Hawaii, San Francisco, Seattle, and Corpus Christi, Texas, before coming to Norfolk in 1947.
