Things got as raucous as expected at the Halloween Skolliejol at Durban's Winston Pub last Wednesday.
Screaming Joh Hansen was, indeed, the one-man-band freak show we were promised; Car Boot Vendors continues to impress; and Fruits and Veggies had me grooving on out the door on my merry way home. Just wish I was loaded because I would love to buy the venue a new PA system. Not terrible, but it could be so much better.
As for Sunday at Pinetown's Rainbow Restaurant and the performance of the Umkhumbane Ensemble, I feel it is going to be quite difficult to explain the joy and absolute musical and cultural bliss that we shared with the 11 members of this ...
