Capital Intelligence (CI), the international credit rating agency, today announced that it has affirmed Sampath Bank Ltd (SBL's) foreign currency ratings at B long-term and B short-term with Stable outlooks. The ratings are the same as the ratings assigned to the sovereign. The low sovereign ratings reflect the government's weak finances and the country's vulnerable external position.
