New Merck Will Begin Combined Operations Tomorrow

WHITEHOUSE STATION, N.J. & KENILWORTH, N.J. -- Merck & Co., Inc. (NYSE: MRK) and Schering-Plough Corporation (NYSE: SGP) today announced that they will complete their merger shortly after 4:00PM ET today. The companies will begin combined operations tomorrow, November 4, 2009. As previously announced, Schering-Plough will change its name to Merck and its common stock will trade under the ticker symbol "MRK" on the New York Stock Exchange.
