China's gold output up 14.53 pct in first three quarters

Shanghai. November 2. INTERFAX-CHINA - China produced 228.2 tons of gold bullion in the first nine months of 2009, up 14.53 percent year-on-year, the China Gold Association (CGA) announced on Oct. 30.

China's gold mining companies produced a total of 118.56 tons of gold bullion and compound gold over the same period, up 15.32 percent year- on-year. Gold bullion produced by smelting companies, which include nonferrous metals smelters and gold refineries, using compound gold, scrap gold and imported ore as feedstock, grew by 13.68 percent year- on-year to 109.64 tons.
