Actelion Ltd., of Basel, Switzerland, reported preliminary results from its RAPIDS-1 trial that evaluated Tracleer in treating digital ulcerations in scleroderma patients. The primary endpoint, preventing new digital ulcers, was achieved at an unspecified but statistically significant rate, Actelion said. It said it plans to begin the process for an orphan drug designation for Tracleer for digital ulcerations in scleroderma patients.
