Nov 03, 2009 (The Age - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology, just as "clean coal", is being seen by many as an easily lampooned rearguard action by the fossil fuels sector. Its support among politicians varies, and the immense costs involved mean that despite the concept being proven, only a handful of actual facilities have been built so far. Their number is insufficient to combat climate change. Victoria is leading the way in Australia in research on CCS.
