ActivBiotics Inc., of Lexington, Mass., said the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, Tenn., received U.S. Patent Nos. 6,579,854 and 6,562,582 covering the use of two or more anti-chlamydial compounds to clear bacterial infections. ActivBiotics exclusively licenses the patents, which also cover the use of immunosuppressive or anti-inflammatory agents in combination with anti-chlamydial therapeutic agents.
