AS IF oil worth Rs 500 crore going up in flames and nine casualties were not enough, the towering inferno in Jaipur's Indian Oil Corporation depot could exact a greater toll in the days -- and possibly years -- to come. Collateral damage from the raging inferno in the Sitapura Industrial Area, where the IOC depot is located, could be as much as Rs 600 crore. Worse, the pink city and its surrounding areas could witness acid rains, damage to vegetation and soil fertility and adverse impact on human health. ...
