AT LEAST 11 people were killed and over two dozen sustained serious injuries when a passenger train rammed into a truck at an unmanned railway crossing in Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday.
The public relations officer of the railways, Amit Singh, said the accident took place in the afternoon near Chakrashool halt between Nawabganj and Mankapur railway stations.
" The Gorakhpur- Ayodhya passenger train hit the truck carrying sand and some labourers.
The impact was so intense that besides the truck driver and the cleaner, nine train passengers sustained fatal injuries.
The railways have announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh each ...
