Texas-based engineering company Fluor Corp. announced Tuesday it was awarded a contract to develop the Bergermeer gas storage project in the Netherlands.
Fluor said it was awarded the engineering, procurement and construction management services contract from TAQA Energy B.V., a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi National Energy Co.
Fluor will assist TAQA in its ambition to provide Europe with energy security through this strategically important underground gas storage project, said Peter Oosterveer, president of Fluor's Energy & Chemicals Group.
