JK Tyre and Industries has chalked out a capex plan of Rs 1,200 crore for expanding its capacity, which includes setting up a greenfield car radial plant in South India by 2013.
JK Tyre is planning to augment its total capacity up to 98 lakh by March 2010 including addition of five lakh units of car radials at the plant near Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh. The capacity of truck and bus radials of Mysore units in Karnataka is likely to be ramped up to 12 lakh units annually by 2011.
This apart, the company is investing Rs 120 crore for raising the off-the-road tyre production at Mysore plant to 42,000 units per annum from the current ...
