State-run telecom operator MTNL has issued a $20 million global tender for installation and commissioning of 200,000 GSM lines, including 3G, for its Mauritius unit.

The project would be divided into two phases, with the first one for 100,000 2G lines and the second comprising 50,000 2G lines and 50,000 3G lines, the company website said.

MTNL is operating in Mauritius through its fully owned subsidiary, called MTML (Mahanagar Telephone Mauritius Ltd). MTNL has started accepting bids for the tender from October 14, and the last date is November 7. The equipment have to be compatible with MTNL s existing infrastructure solutions ...
