The city of Torrance has closed escrow on two downtown properties and is considering a third acquisition as officials bank land for future redevelopment opportunities.
The purchases include a large swath of property along the east side of Cabrillo Avenue in Old Torrance, between Carson and 213th streets. The city's redevelopment agency closed escrow Oct. 25 on adjoining properties at 1316 and 1320 Cabrillo. The cost of the 8,400-square-foot properties was $1.25 million, said Brian Sunshine, assistant to the city manager.
That acquisition was closely followed on Tuesday by a second purchase of 1630 and 1640 Cabrillo. Purchased ...
