US-based Ocean Power Technologies has made a deal with Japan to set up a sea-based power station.
OPT builds ocean wave-riding sustainable energy buoys which convert the motion of ocean waves into electricity.
The company, which focuses its sales in North America, Europe, Australia, the United States, the UK and Japan, will, in its latest agreement, team with three Japanese companies: Idemitsu Kosan, Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding, and Japan Wind Development for the wave-power station.
