A new parking area using pervious concrete is being installed at Centennial Park, 408 10th St., in Holly Hill's Community Redevelopment district, according to Christopher Hurst, the city's public works director.
Unlike typical paving, rainwater can penetrate the porous concrete, which helps to restore the aquifer and using this "green" surface approach will assist in controlling stormwater runoff, Hurst said.
