The face of Division 2-3 hockey in Central Massachusetts has changed considerably this year with the formation of the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference. Fitchburg State and Worcester State are part of the eight-team loop, which also includes Framingham State, UMass-Dartmouth, Plymouth State, Salem State and Westfield State. UMass-Dartmouth will go into the season as the MASCAC favorite, with Salem State and Fitchburg State being the likely challengers.
