SAN DIMAS, Calif. -- American States Water Company (NYSE:AWR) today reported basic and fully diluted earnings of $0.52 per common share for the third quarter ended September 30, 2009 as compared to basic and fully diluted earnings of $0.26 per common share for the third quarter ended September 30, 2008.
The $0.26 per share increase in reported diluted earnings for the third quarter of 2009, as compared to the same period of 2008, included a $0.13 per share unrealized loss on purchased power contracts during the three months ended September 30, 2008.
