THERE are bad nights in Europe and then there is this. In fact, it's difficult to imagine how this Champions League trip to Romania could have been any more painful or damaging for a club already reeling from a succession of embarrassments.
Not that Walter Smith and his players were to blame. In fact, they came within two minutes of restoring a great deal of the pride that had been so badly damaged when the unheralded champions of Romania ran amok two weeks ago in Glasgow.
