Gazprom deputy chief Alexander Medvedev led a delegation to Shanghai to participate in natural gas discussions with the China National Petroleum Corp.
Gazprom and CNPC signed a strategic cooperation agreement in 2004 on a variety of joint ventures related to Russian gas deliveries to China.
Medvedev met with CNPC Vice President Wang Dongjin to discuss forming a working group to address establishing gas chemical facilities in the Far East, the Russian energy giant said.
