NETWORK Rail officials were told by AMs yesterday to calculate the amount of investment taking place in Wales after being told the figures were unavailable.
The cross-party Assembly enterprise committee is carrying out an inquiry into the future of the rail network and whether Wales receives a "fair share" of spending on improvements.
But when Tory economic spokesman David Melding questioned Network Rail officials he was told that investment figures for Wales would have to be calculated because spending was assessed on the basis of cross-border rail routes.
