BETHLEHEM ---- The race for town supervisor will yet again go to absentee ballots as neither Jack Cunningham nor Sam Messina was declared the winner.

Challenger Messina, running as a Republican and Conservative, was ahead of Cunningham, the incumbent, by just 109 votes after all the precincts reported. The County Board of Elections sent out 468 absentee ballots, so those voters will decide the town supervisor's race.

"It's been one hurdle after another, but we're optimistic on winning this thing," Cunningham said.

Messina said reaching out to members of different political parties was the success of his campaign.
