SRI LANKAN CO AITKEN SPENCE SEPT NET UP ON TOURISM, SHIPPING

COLOMBO - Sri Lanka's Aitken Spence said September 2009 quarter group net profit rose 16 per cent to 470 million rupees (US$4 million) from a year ago as its domestic leisure business recovered.

A company statement said group revenue fell 31 per cent to 5.8 billion rupees over the period. Earnings per share rose 16 per cent to 17.37 rupees from 14.97 rupees.
