Pamela H. Witt, clinical coordinator of the Western Tidewater Free Clinic, is known for being a multi-tasker.
She works long hours and is often advised by her friends at the clinic "to get off of her feet, and get some rest."
"At first, it was very tough - 12 to 14 hours a day," said Witt, regarding the opening of the first free clinic on Godwin Boulevard.
She began volunteering at the clinic when it opened in September 2007, and two months later stepped into her current position.
"Now, there are people who had health insurance and have lost it," Witt said, "and mental health counseling has gone up tremendously because of job losses."
