Canadians responsible for 18% of U.S. real estate purchases by foreigners
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Nearly 31 percent of foreign buyers of U.S. properties have come from Europe so far this year; Canada and Mexico (North America) came in second with 28%; and Asia third, with 25%. "The USA a melting pot for foreign investors," said the National Association of Realtors (NAR) President Richard Gaylord. While international buyers purchased properties in most of the 50 states, the Sunbelt States accounted for the bulk of their purchases: Arizona, California, Florida and Texas.
