Nov 05, 2009 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Unions representing child care staff want the Australian Government to vet the eventual buyer of 705 facilities of the collapsed ABC Learning Centres group. The frontrunners now are private equity firm Archer Capital and a charities consortium headed by Mission Australia, after Singaporean suitor Knowledge Universe decided to no longer take part in the bidding. ABC receiver McGrathNicol hopes to finalise the transactions before the end of 2009.
