Pulte Homes posts loss
BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. u Pulte Homes Inc. Wednesday said it lost $361.4 million in the third quarter, but with the acquisition of Centex Corp., the homebuilderAEs new orders increased by more than a third. Pulte completed its purchase of Centex in August, turning the company into the nationAEs largest builder, and has properties in Carpentersville, Lake Zurich, Lindenhurst and Yorkville. By combining the operations, the deal gave Pulte more communities with affordably priced homes for first-time buyers, as well as desirable land in Texas and the Carolinas.
