Change to Win (CtW) Chair Anna Burger has called upon Congress to reject amendments supported by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to weaken key accounting provisions of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, the cornerstone of post-Enron reform. In a letter to members of the House Financial Services committee, Burger cited Change to Win's report, entitled "Preaching Principle, Enabling Excess," to highlight how Chamber President and CEO Thomas J. Donohue has transformed the Chamber from a respected voice for corporate America into an aggressive defender of corporate executive privilege.
