The American Mutt-i-grees™ Club, an initiative that gives 50 million mixed-breed dogs the voice and the status they deserve, urges Americans to adopt a mixed-breed shelter dog. It is paying homage to National Adopt a Shelter Pet Month with the declaration of today, October 26, 2009 as National Mutt-i-grees Day.
The American Mutt-i-grees™ Club, through education and advocacy, promotes adopting a mixed-breed puppy or dog from a shelter as the right choice that saves lives. Their goal is to dramatically decrease the nation's euthanasia rates currently estimated at nearly 3 million dogs a year.
