"Thalassemia major patients have increased risk for thromboembolic complications because of the chronic hypercoagulable state. The question arising from this is whether thromboembolic complications are the result of genetic polymorphisms of prothrombotic factors," scientists in Ankara, Turkey report (see also Thalassemia).
