According to recent research published in the Journal of Physical Chemistry C, "We report on the unique twin junctions formed by the intersection of two ZnO nanowires (NWs) during growth."
"These twin boundaries (TBs) in junctions such as [2 (1) over bar(1) over bar0]/(01 (1) over bar3) TBs, [2 (1) over bar(1) over bar0]/(01 (1) over bar) TBs, [2 (1) over bar(1) over bar0]/ (01 (1) over bar2) TBs, and [2 (1) over bar(1) over bar0]/(02 (2) over bar3) TBs all contain the common [2 (1) over bar(1) over bar0] direction, whose microstructures are systematically studied.
