"A novel source modal decomposition in spectral domain is used to analyse the radiation from a finite bi-dimensional (2-D) omnidirectional centred-fed microstrip leaky-wave antenna (LWA). The driving element of the 2-D microstrip LWA induces the excitation of surface waves along (Ox) and (Oy) directions," scientists in Algeria report.

"Thus, the 2-D structure can be modelled as a phased array antenna.
