According to a study from Southampton, the United Kingdom, "In this paper, we propose a novel superposition-coding-aided multiplexed Hybrid Automatic Repeat reQuest (HARQ) scheme for the sake of improving both the link layer and the transport control protocol (TCP) layer efficiency."
"The detailed system design is presented, and the transmission efficiency metrics of both layers are discussed. Furthermore, the achievable link-layer packet error rate and a range of other transmission efficiency metrics of both layers are quantified," wrote R. Zhang and colleagues, University of Southampton.
The researchers concluded: "It is demonstrated that our scheme ...
