According to recent research from Montreal, Canada, "So far, two ultrawideband (UWB) standards have been proposed as high-speed physical technologies for next-generation wireless personal area networks (WPANs). These standards are based on multi-band orthogonal frequency-division-multiplexing (MB-OFDM) UWB or direct-sequence UWB (DS-UWB)."
