Sam and Paul Cowpe feared the worst as they were ushered into the hospital consultant's room.
And when a nurse followed them in and gently closed the door behind them, they both knew they were about to be told some bad news.
Their son had leukaemia and the diagnosis changed the family's life for ever. "It was horrendous. We were devastated by the news," says Sam.
"I felt physically sick and was like that for days afterwards. I thought I'd never stop crying."
