Innovative architect Mr Ball designed Briarwood, a home built of mellow brick, that stands proudly in Barnt Green's Twatling Road.
Times have changed since Mr Ball completed the development in the late 1890s but his efforts earned the home a Grade II listing.
And now its current owners have made their own mark on the house, cleverly mixing contemporary touches with the elegant features that still ensure Briarwood stands out from the crowd.
