TWO SUPREME Court judges, hearing separate cases involving Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), on Wednesday recused themselves from the cases citing conflict of interest. While Justice R.V. Raveendran walked out because of his daughter's association with a firm advising RIL, Justice Markandey Katju said his wife had invested in the Reliance group shares.
With the recusal of Justice Raveendran, the Supreme Court will have to hear afresh arguments in the high-stake gas supply dispute. The dispute is between the Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) and Anil Ambani's Reliance Natural Resources Ltd (RNRL).
