Prosecutors will seek to file charges against BAE Systems Plc, EuropeOs biggest weapons maker, after the company rejected a plea bargain to resolve allegations it paid bribes in eastern Europe and Africa to win contracts. The U.K. Serious Fraud Office, which prosecutes white- collar crime, will ask the Attorney General for permission to take the London-based company to court on overseas corruption charges, the SFO said today in a statement. The agency had tried to have BAE plead guilty to criminal charges and pay a fine. The charges relate to aircraft deals in South Africa and the Czech Republic, sales of two frigates in Romania ...
