According to a report in the Scottish newspaper, The Herald, Scotland will be included in plans for a new network of high-speed rail lines, with Glasgow and Edinburgh being served equally. Sir David Rowlands, chairman of High Speed Two (HS2), said the government-commissioned company was examining three Ostrategic corridorsO for tracks capable of carrying 225 mph trains north of the West Midlands, all of which would connect London with ScotlandOs two biggest cities.
