Article: Afghans killed in rocket attack.

An investigation has been launched into the deaths of nine people in a rocket attack in Helmand province in southern Afghanistan.

Hamid Karzai, the president, ordered the probe on Thursday into the overnight attack.

He did not suggest who might have fired the rocket, but the Nato-led force in Afghanistan said separately that it had fired a rocket at people suspected to have been planting bombs.

Some villagers said that civilians had been killed, including three children, although this was not confirmed by the government.
